Flashlite80 Posted March 5, 2023 Share Posted March 5, 2023 Rodgers and Carr are playing the Jets. Forget who we want. If Rodgers wanted to come to the Jets, he would be here. If Carr wanted to be here, he would sign the deal. Rodgers is 39 and not sure he wants to play anymore. If he does, he will want a chance to get to the Super Bowl. Why would he chance coming to the Jets, who have a 4 year history of getting their quarterback massacred? Forget they promise to fix it. If I'm Rodgers, I see they rebuilt the line 3 times since Douglas is here and have had very little success. Carr will have the same concern in addition to the fact that they do not seem to be long term committed to him and the talk of rehabbing Zach affirms that. He has a nice dome stadium in New Orleans and a 4.5% state tax rate versus 10.75% in Jersey. On a 5 year/$40MM per contract, that's $12.5MM. The sad thing is they will jerk us around until the remaining available options will not make us a serious playoff contender. Consider the Giants are considering close to $40MM per for Daniel Jones and Garapolo is asking the same, the picture begins to look less rosy.
