The Jets are the team he’s relying upon to up his squeeze on the Saints. He’s probably already got a tentative deal in place with them, but that number naturally rises if the Jets find Rodgers is unavailable and get into serious bidding. There’s nothing else new that’d cause Carr to suddenly sign before then. Also it’s clear the team doesn’t want to lock into him for 3-4 years. Waiting two weeks (in late Feb and early March, no less) isn’t in the same galaxy as waiting two years for some perfect/utopian team scenario and makeup before making a move. Carr is an upgrade who’d make watching games more enjoyable than they’ve been. I don’t see him getting any further than one and done in pretty much any scenario, and a merely pretty good player a guy you rush to sign and bypass a special player.
