JetPotato
On Day 1 of my Presidency, my plan of action beings as such: 1) Notify Aaron Rodgers now that there will be organizational changes this offseason, and he should factor that into his career plans. Additionally, whichever staff we bring in will be hired with the understanding that they will be operating with a new, hand-picked starting QB of this team in 2025. "Veteran not named AR" and/or drafted rookie will be here starting. Come back to tutor if you want (he won't). Knowing that reality dictates that this Rodgers contract situation is a bullet that has to be bitten, no matter how painful it is financially or for its roster cut implications, you push forward. Oh and Aaron can be offered the services of the entire marketing department to promote the remainder of this season as his Farewell Tour. Full control of editing. 2) Begin the process of identifying the best head coaching candidate of the 2024 offseason. Whoever it is, the goal is not to interview this person for the job. It is to hire this person. Right now, that person looks to be Ben Johnson. There may be, as there usually is, a major head coaching availability surprise out there to come in the coming months. Where ever it lands, you are offering the largest head coaching contract in the history of the NFL. Time to put those top 5 value franchise bucks to work. You aren't getting the best football people to come work here without this. Doesn't matter if it does turn out to be a rookie HC. You hand them the keys to a pretty talented roster with a nice set of draft picks upcoming. There will be some tough decisions to be made, but this new coach will be empowered to do them as they see fit. Including input on who will assist them as the new GM to fill in your roster requests. 3) Interim head coach is brought in with youth development as Priority #1. Let's uncover some clues on what we may or may not have, and stop wasting time on aging players at positions like, say, linebacker. The rebuild must start today.
