Wed, 3 May 2006 09:36:54 -0700

NewYorkJets.com reports New York Jets RB Leon Washington is excited about the prospect of learning from Jets RB Curtis Martin. The knock on Wasthington is his height (5-8). However, Washington was one of the more explosive players available in the draft (4.3 speed), has great hands and return skills. His humility and toughness were the key intangibles in Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum's decision to take Washington in the fourth-round.

Jets | Smith to start as a wide receiver

Wed, 3 May 2006 09:18:24 -0700

NewYorkJets.com reports New York Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum reports the Jets plan to use RB Brad Smith primarily at wide receiver to start. However, he is likely to move into more of a "slash" role as he gets more comfortable with the offense. Smith was a quarterback in college and scored 45 rushing touchdowns from that position. Head coach Eric Mangini refused to rule out using Smith as a third quarterback. Suffice it to say, Smith will certainly get a long look from the coaching staff. They love his physical abilities and his intangibles, such as leadership and intelligence.

That is weird. No mention of what animals he likes to kill with his bare hands.

I am going to just come out and say it. This coaching staff is not animal friendly.

What are you reffering to Max? Also I'm pretty sure that Washington did not run a 4.3 40
