toon88
growing up a Celtics fan, besides Bird there was no man I admired more than Arnold "Red" Auerbach. Thanks you Red. The next Macanudo or Romeo & Julieta will be lit in your honor. Tupac has no place in this thread
haggis
A black day for Boston sports, and a sad day in the World of Sports. RIP Red.
PFSIKH
A black day for Boston sports, and a sad day in the World of Sports. RIP Red. The Celtics mystique is officially dead with the passing of Red. Few if any people are associated with a franchise like Red is with the Celtics. mbn007
The Celtics mystique is officially dead with the passing of Red. Few if any people are associated with a franchise like Red is with the Celtics. I thought about this for a while yesterday. Aside from stuff like Lombardi with the Packers, and the Babe with the Yankees, Maybe Howe with the Red Wings, there is precious little that can say they are associated with a sports franchise like Red was. And these folks really were not with their teams anywher near like Red was. The only real close one that I come up with is McGraw with the NY Giants.
