JetNation
The Cubs move opening day starter Carlos Zambrano to the bullpen. vanDoug
I follow the Cubs closely and I didn't see this one coming. But I'll take it. Anything to shake up this overpaid underperfoming team.
NJ
The Cubs have allowed 18 runs in 14 games in the 8th & 9th innings - so suffice, their pen sucks large (which isn't front page news) Lilly is coming back into the rotation this weekend so one of the starters is expendable. Z has the body and gumption to serve in that role and he has been marginal to lousy in his starts - so why not? The only reason this is even a possibility is because Silva and Gorzelany have thrown much better than they've been consistantly capable of. Maybe Larry Rothschild is finally earning his paychecks.
