Haven't scoured The Racing Form as yet, but at some point today I'll have my bets figured out and will pay a visit to my local OTB shop. Getting them in today so I can tailgate tomorrow for my Scarlet Knights vs Navy(had some trouble with the option last year). I'll be back later with some ammendments, but without having seen alot of the Cali or European horses, here's my breakdown.

Race 3 Juvenille Fillies: We have DW Lukas against his protege, Todd Pletcher. Folklore has lost 2 of 3 to Adieu, but won the last. I'll go with the trainers' recent form as opposed to the horses' and bet the latter. TP may have another star like he does in the Distaff(race 8). Will take a hard look at Bailey and Solis' mounts later on to fill out the 3 horse exacta box.

Race 4 Juvenille: Bailey's horse is getting all the attention, but I'm not a big fan of his trainer nor the price. Some year soon we'll be singing Asmussen's praises, so why not now? Private Vow is the pick, but I'll need to get back later on how to fill out the exacta.

Race 5 Filly and Mare Turf: Ouija Board would be a solid choice even without Jerry Bailey's services. Riskaverse somehow dosen't get resepect at the windows and could help in your exoctics. The other choices, Megahertz, Wonder Again, and Intercontinental are all solid. Still, I'll need to come up with a bomb to even out the heavy favorite on top. Once again, stay tuned.

Race 6 Sprint: Lost In The Fog will see a big field and pressure on the lead. Two things he's not all that used to. He's definitely legitimate, but if he wins it won't bother me to tear up tickets on a $15 exacta. Lion Tamer may benefit from the speed of Silver Train. Gygistar has some experience and can pick up the pieces if someone makes a mistake. Battle Won will get some respect as well with the new hot jock, Dominguez.

Race 7 Mile: I'm no fan of a front runner on grass, even at a mile. I'll toss the favorite and hope the going isn't too soft for Artie Schiller. Sand Springs is another who never seems to get bet. That won't be the case tomorrow as Bailey takes the mount, so don't expect the 20-1 from the morning line. Singletary and Funfair will get a good going over.

Race 8 Distaff: Ashado has Pletcher/Velasquez but this horse never wins by daylight. Happy Ticket, Society Selection, and Sweet Symphony(Bailey) will get the hardest looks to box w/ the fave.

Race 9 Turf: Better Talk Now lit up the board last year and figures to be a good price again. He also brings a rabbit to set the pace. Bailey has the favorite, Shakespear, and then there's 4 Europeans to choose from.

Race 10 Classic: Perfect Drift is trying this for the 4th time. None have been especially spectacular but he's had tough luck and the others just don't stand out. Flower Alley is the new kid on the block and will actually provide a price. Cast a wary eye on Nick Zito. Sun King can return to his early form and Sir Shackleton might just light up the board.

That's it for now. I'll have something to add tonight. Good luck all you pundits.

You guys really are gay.

Got in a little late, but here's the update with the winners in bold:

Fillies: Loved the time on Original Spin's win in Chicago. Since he's 3rd choice I'll need to find a way to beat the faves. Knights Templar is from Canada but looks fast enough to compete. She Says It Best and Wild Fit seem to be able to put up good enough speed figures.

Juvenile: First Samurai has posted easily the best figs, but these are babies and when the growing is done I don't expect to see any Frank Brothers horses winning the classics. Therefore we need to look for a fututre star. Closers are the way to go. Dawn Of War, Private Vow and Stevie Wonderboy(owned by Merv Griffith) is the box. Nice rider change on Henny Hughes for those that like that angle.

Filly/Mare Turf: Riskaverse, Megahertz, Ouija Board. 'hertz really stands out and will be out for remption from her clunker here last year. Angara is the live longshot.

Sprint: Lost In The Fog will have to throw his jockey to lose this, but I'm not cashing any $15 exacta, so hopefully Russel Baze will get up to ride again. He'll face some early pressure like he hasn't yet seen, so try the one that figures to be out there with him, Wildcat Heir. Battle Won is another who can pound it out on the lead(good things DO come from Jersey after all). We'll need a closer in case it all falls apart and that's Taste Of Paradise. Maybe LITF is allergic to syrup?

Mile: Even on a soft course at a mile I don't like frontrunning turfers. If the fave beats me it won't break my heart to tear up tix against another cheap exacta. Artie Schiller needs a firm course but if he can find his gear he's gone. He was sensational in the Preakness undercard this year. Funfair picks up weight off his last but is solid. Limehouse ran well in his only turf assignment and only a slight improvement puts him right there.

Distaff: Nothing But Fun has done nothing but win. Happy Ticket will make good account of herself at the wire. Good call by Stevie The Wiz on Capeside Lady. Pletcher's 2nd stringer will pay a nice price and has the figs to win it all. Don't overlook her with Chris DeCarlo up.

Turf: Shakespear is a well-bred Bailey/Mott horse that dosen't know how to lose. Gun Salute is Mott's 2nd stringer but the price merits top billing. The 2 Irish horses and the French one all look good enough to throw on tyhe exacta ticket. Of the three, Ace might get you the best value.

Classic: Borrego has never been better and I'll stick with the horse I travelled all the way to New Orleans to see run a good 3rd in the Louisiana Derby a couple yrs ago. I'm dissapointed that Rock Hard Ten is scratched, not because I wanted to play him, but he figured to take lots of $$ and he didn't run well in his only trip around this track. That with his foot problems made him an automatic toss out. Oratorio looks better than Starcraft(whose owners paid $800G to suplement him for the race) at least on turf form. Perfect Drift is the sole survivor in an unispiring division.

Well at least that's the way I remember playing it now. When I wake up tomorrow and check my tickets they should look something like the above. Good luck.

OTB? i always thought that was like the step that comes before complete homelessness and alcoholism.

Ill watch football and porn instead

Well if I keep going 2 for 8 I might wind up homeless, but what's wrong with alcoholism?

At my age I have to watch one, but still manage to participate in the other. Wot's yer excuse?
