local quarterback Scott Buisson

Buisson (5’11” 180 lbs. Arkansas-Monticello) prepped at Archbishop Rummel High School (Metairie, La.), and went on to enjoy a stellar career at Arkansas-Monticello, starting four years at quarterback for the Boll Weevils. Upon his graduation, Buisson left holding 17 school records, two Gulf South Conference Records and one state of Arkansas record.

The Metairie native stands as Arkansas’ all-time leader in total offense with 12,514 yards for his career. Buisson accomplished some impressive feats during his tenure as a Boll Weevil that included going over the 500-yard mark of total offense in a game four times during his career.

In a game against Henderson State on September 18, 2009, Buisson started the contest by completing 20-of-20 passes, an accomplishment previously unattained on any level of college football. He would finish the first half 20-of-22, but not before tallying 684 yards of total offense (424 passing, 216 rushing) and seven total touchdowns, enjoying one of the more prolific days for a quarterback in college football history.

He still stands as the only quarterback on any level of competition to every surpass 400 yards passing and 200 yards rushing in a single game.
