SickJetFan
Harvin.....wtf Yes he is good player no doubt. In no way will this ever work out for the jets He is a diva who is looking for a final payday like Holmes. As soon as he suckers next team to pay him he will show up for 50% of the games. soooo 2 outcomes for jets It was a one year rental and we lose a 6th round pick (not such a big deal) but we also lose the 7 million carry over cap money ( I dont rememeber the figure). That could have been used to sign someone who is not a firecracker ready to explode...hmmmm....maybe? 2nd outcome Jets are able to resign him for less cash (only way he is staying) but still enough cash to set Harvin up for a few years. let the Diva sh*t begin. oh and we lose the 7 million carry over cap money and we lose a 4th round pick. what a coup

derp
Somebody wants to get banned starting all these threads. The Harvin move was fine. Low risk, and exactly the kind of explosive player this offense has needed for years. Idzik's actually done a reasonably good job in trades and free agency. This team was never a Super Bowl contender without a quarterback - no point in overspending on risky players for long-term contracts when you can roll over cap space. Not the way you build a good team. He's missed on some acquisitions, absolutely, but how easily have the Jets been able to move on from them? No moves really hurt the team financially - and on the field again, they weren't going to compete for a Super Bowl either of the last two years. Not sure about you guys, but a 10-6 wild card season and winning 0-2 games in the playoffs isn't going to really do it for me. The issue is that he has drafted absolutely terribly. The Richardson pick was solid, and that's pretty much it. For a guy who wants to build a team through the draft. Honestly though, it's fine. This team is going to have a ton of cap space heading into next year and likely a top 3-5 draft pick with a chance to bring in a franchise quarterback. This isn't the crippling situation it was two years ago when nobody would have wanted the GM job that offered no ability to choose your own coach, no cap space, little talent on the team, a mediocre draft pick in an absolutely terrible draft, and a meddlesome owner who clearly doesn't know how to run a winning franchise. If they're able to bring in the right guys to lead the organization this offseason - both a GM and a head coach - those guys will be in a position where they have an opportunity to turn things around. And that's because Idzik handled these two years reasonably well besides drafting terribly.
