124
"I want to take the fans back to the playoffs last season when your quarterback played with a shoulder that desperately needed surgery to repair itself. The performance that Chad Pennington put forth after his return from his initial injury was awe-inspiring from my standpoint. While many fans are quick to criticize John Abraham for not playing with an injury, they forget that Pennington laid his career on the line for not only himself and his team but also for Jets fans who knew they had no chance without him. nj meadowlands
I always liked Boomer as a commentator and football mind, and this blurb isn't surprising to me. But he is absolutely correct. Pennington's injuries thus far in his career have been flukes... the word is simply unfortunate. Chad's injuries have been unfortunate and are not a testament to the kind of player that he is, nor are they a testament to how strong his body actually is. Either way, Boomer is right in his assessment that Pennington is extremely tough and will play at any cost.
