  1. Fair enough, but if he's dominating in camp, its going to be tough to keep him off the field. I think he'll start the season as a swing tackle and he'll fill either OT position if/when Smith or Moses go down. He'll be the primary backup at both spots.
  2. His comp according to multiple analysts is D'Brick Ferguson. Pretty much the opposite of big, slow, and plodding.
  3. It's going to be tough for an OG to come back from a torn Achilles in less than 10 months. The position requires you to push off that tendon on essentially every play while taking on 300+ lb DTs. Even if he does manage to be ready for the start of the season, he is almost certainly going to be eased in like Breece was last summer. Smith and Moses being older vets, also coming off injuries, are likely going to be on a pitch count as well. It sure feels nice to have a blue chip rookie OT to plug in.
  4. Who were the Jets drafting at #11 that would be a day 1 starter?
  5. Long term, he's the LT. But if he plays lights out in camp and preseason, it's not crazy to think he can start over Moses at RT.
  6. You can't criticize JD on understanding positional value in the draft. He's done it consistently well, he just hasn't drafted the right players often times.
  7. JD in his press conferenece earlier: "I don't think it mattered who we picked; it was going to be a tough path to the starting lineup." He's absolutely right.
  8. I'm interested to see how the Jets trade down played out. My guess: Jets got an offer from Denver to trade up for McCarthy. JD contacted the Vikes and said if you want McCarthy, you need to beat Denver's offer, swap picks with us, or you will miss out on your guy.
  9. Aiyuk would be a terrific addition and put this offense over the top.
  10. I think having a blue chip LT on a 5 year rookie contract is very valuable. And hoping for a year to year FA stop gap or mid round project is not a great strategy of filling LT long term. There is a reason why you see 5+ OTs taken in the first round every year. For the record, I like BJT and have stated I would be OK with taking him at #10 even though it would be a reach. I wanted no part of Bowers in the first half of the first round. The draft isn't over yet. Let's see what the Jets do to fill the long term WR2 spot. From everything I have read this draft is deep at WR.
  11. What was your solution to a starting LT in 2025 and beyond? I'll hang up and listen.
  12. It was a nice victory and hopefully the end of the Pats absolutely owning the Jets and Saleh. Do I like Odunze as a prospect? Yes. Do we know he would have been the pick if the Jets were drafting little higher? Nope. If Fashanu turns into a franchise LT, nobody is going to give a sh*t.
  13. Mel Kiper had Fashanu as his 4th best player available when the Jets were picking. Sure enough, as soon as the Jets make the pick, it's "he's gotta clean up this, and he's gotta clean up that." The guy was a wall for all of his seasons at Penn State. Zero sacks given up and an absurdly low pressure rate. Now all of the sudden after being drafted by the Jets he's "developmental." So predictable.
  14. I, for one, am excited that the Jets won't have to throw in the towel on the season if/when Smith or Moses go down. Two 33 year old OTs coming off injuries on one year contracts. This team needs a long term franchise LT, and they got one while adding 4th and 5th round picks. If Fashanu is legit, this was a slam dunk pick with great maneuvering by JD.
  15. With AVT coming of an Achilles tear, not set in stone he's ready for the start of season.
