Report: Jets Will Want Multiple 1st Rounders for Mo

Most everyone thinks this is going to be some super great defense, after drafting Williams. Having now, Coples, Wilkerson, Harrison, Richardson and now Williams. Guess what your right, it's sickly, going to be unstoppable.

BUT WAIT:

If the Jets trade away Wilkerson, then everything you thought was going to be one super great defense will be gone in a flash. It doesn't matter what they get for him, the draft is over for this season and who cares about next years draft. It doesn't help the team this year. They can never get a DL guy back from a trade that would be better than him since he's the third rated lineman in the league. That would be another Memorable Jet trade in history, but not in a good way. You might want to say, same old Jets if they do that trade.

A LOT will depend on how Wilkerson plays this year.  To be honest imo he has slightly underachieved the last two years.  Yes that sounds absurd because he has been very good but imo he has not taken that next step to be what he can be.  His play has tailed off on the 2nd half the last two years (injuries were a factor last year of course).

 

If he plays like he can and with the other players on this line he will be a must keep and will get paid.  If he does not then they should look at moving him.  As much of a sacrilege as this is around here I think at present he is being slightly overrated by our fan base.

I only know what ESPN was saying about him being the 3rd best DL guy in the league. He's only behind Watt and the beast from Miami.
