I have to agree. I mean unless they guy really ****ed up, e.g. got arrested, accused of sexual assault or domestic violence, how do you trade your talented but troubled young 2nd round pick before he plays a game in his second season?

They'll be drafting high the next several years.  Mariota's going to be a bust especially now

They literally gave him away to the Eagles for nothing-makes you a little suspicious even with his past trangressions that they just would give up on him so early

Yep.  You took a troubled WR in the 2nd round and cut bait after one full year?  Makes no sense.  They had to know it was going to be a process and they need to exercise patience.

And it's not as if he didn't give them reason to be excited.  By the end of this season he gave them every reason to believe that he was going to be a big time playmaker.
