Yes, I believe he was at one point.  But he's not now and hasn't been for years, so saying he's "die hard" Jets fan is about as wrong as it gets.

Still respect what he did at ESPN though.

The recap show with jackson was must see tv back in the day though.

ESPN is getting rid of all its high priced on-air talent.

 

When I was younger I watched his 7pm Sunday Recap show religiously

He didn't.  He was just around while ESPN dominated in sports tv with no competition for two decades until NFLN and MLBN plus the internet.

 

Howard Cossell and Marv Albert were way more important
