JetNation
Every week throughout the NFL season we see our fair share of upsets and Week 7 will be no different. Let’s identify three teams that are on upset alert and get on the fade train so we can make some cash this Sunday in our NFL picks! New York Jets vs. New England Patriots Sunday, October 24, 2021 – 1:00 PM ET at Gillette Stadium, Foxborough, MA The Jets lost to the Falcons last week by the score of 27-20 while their AFC East rivals from New England dropped a thrilling 35-29 overtime decision to the Cowboys. The difference is the Jets have had two weeks off to prepare for the Patriots and lick their wounds. Conversely, the Pats are dazed and confused after watching Dak Prescott toss for 445 yards, three touchdowns, and having completed over 70 percent of his passes. This could be a golden opportunity to get down on the 1-4 Jets, particularly because the Patriots’ defense has never looked more mortal in Bill Belichick’s storied career in New England. We should also note that the Patriots could very well be looking ahead to their road trip against the Chargers the following week. The bottom line is we know Zach Wilson hasn’t been good this season but that doesn’t mean he’s not good. He will have his day and that could come this week against the Patriots. Even if the Jets don’t pull the upset, they should stay within the margins. Upset Alert: Jets +7 (-105) or +260 on the moneyline at Bovada Cincinnati Bengals vs. Baltimore Ravens Sunday, October 24, 2021 – 1:00 PM ET at M&T Bank Stadium, Baltimore, MD Don’t look now but the Bengals are a very good team. They did what they had to do last week in crushing the Lions in Motown to the tune of a 34-11 victory, easily covering the 3 ½ point impost and winning three of their last four. The one game they did lose during that span was a hard-fought 25-22 loss to Green Bay. No shame there. The Ravens are just knocking teams on their collective rears and the Chargers were the latest casualty. Baltimore claimed a 34-6 win, shutting down one of the league’s most prolific offenses in the process. It was a huge win and one that puts Baltimore all alone at the top of the AFC North. However, the team in their rearview mirror will be the one meeting them on Sunday. Joe Burrow has a solid core of weapons surrounding him and the Cats’ defense is among the best. This is a divisional tilt and anything can happen. Let’s look for an upset of the Ravens by their chief AFC North rivals. Oh, and by the way, make sure to be on the lookout for a BMR Week 7 parlay, and don’t be surprised if Cincinnati is included! Upset Alert: Bengals +6 (-108) or +220 on the moneyline at Heritage Philadelphia Eagles vs. Las Vegas Raiders Sunday, October 24, 2021 – 4:05 PM ET at Allegiant Stadium, Las Vegas, NV The Eagles are coming off of a six-point loss to the Bucs as they prepare for the Raiders in Sin City. Although they suffered a setback, Philadelphia should take some pride in cracking the century mark in rushing against the best run-stop unit in the league. They will find the sledding much easier this week against Vegas as the Raiders have the 25th ranked run defense which could be exactly what Philly needs to score the road upset in this one. Meanwhile, Las Vegas will find their aerial attack somewhat slowed by an underrated Eagles pass defense, currently ranked fifth in the league, surrendering just 211.8 yards per contest. Moreover, the Raiders are 0-4 against the spread versus a team with a losing record and the 2-4 Eagles fall into that category. Both of these teams are similar statically with Philadelphia scoring 22.8 PPG vs. 24.5 PPG for Las Vegas while their defenses are surrendering 25.3 and 24.0 PPG, respectively. The NFL odds on this matchup show the Raiders as three-point home chalk but we are going the other way and are expecting a mild upset by the visiting Eagles. jamesr
Two things that I've never seen NE being accused of ... being "dazed and confused" and "looking ahead".BB will be laser focused on this game - no way will he overlook us. Last thing he wants to do is lose to the Jets and their rookie QB.Sent from my SM-A520F using Tapatalk

jamesr
I was just refuting the idea that BB is somehow assuming this game is already "in the bag" as a reason to expect an upset. Lazy narrative IMHO.Sent from my SM-A520F using Tapatalk
