To his credit, Woody spent some $70-80MM trying to lobby & push through the WSS. Not enough to overcome this duo:

Should never have been Manhattan either.  Horrible unworkable idea on several fronts.

Jets Stadium, on Long Island, not shared, not in crazy Manhattan, on both a major highway and a LIRR major route was always the right call.

Just not, perhaps, the most profitable call.

The only other location discussed was in Queens by (then) Shea.

Thing is without sharing it with another team the WSS would only see NFL action on, ~7 Sunday afternoons when traffic is at its lowest anyway, plus an average of one Mon/Thu night game, the traffic problem issue was way overblown even at the time. Far more would've taken public transportation than do now, which is why the city doesn't come to a screaming halt when there are basketball games, hockey games, and concerts at MSG in a much more congested area than the old rail yards. They get almost 200,000 people attending Comic Con over a weekend, and it's an all day thing not just a 3-hour event, plus people may be more inclined to stay in the city for a bit (if they drove) rather than sit in traffic right after the game ends, spreading it out more.

If it was a baseball stadium in midtown Manhattan (even that far west)? Yeah that would've been a different story. Football? Meh. They put one in Los Angeles and that's with twice as many home games.

Offensive line coach has to be top priority, just looking around the league and lines coached by people like Bill Callahan and when NE had Dante Scarnecchia they could work magic with back up players or Subpar players. The Jets have not had a good line or line coach since Rex years, it’s time that’s the priority along with squiring the right pieces for whatever scheme, not every player fits a wide zone scheme or a power scheme.

Bring back Rex and Tanny... They will right the ship.
