faba Posted March 21, 2007 Share Posted March 21, 2007 Reagor hoping to clog middle for Eagles By BOB GROTZ, bobgrotz@aol.com The Eagles signed Montae Reagor, the run-stopping defensive tackle injured in a serious automobile crash and later released by the Indianapolis Colts. The news broke late Tuesday on the NFL Network after Reagor visited the Birds. The seven-year veteran secured a three-year pact worth $8.25 million with $2 million guaranteed according to the report. The addition of Reagor (6-3, 279) could be a wakeup call for Eagles veterans Darwin Walker and Sam Rayburn, who would seem expendable. Reagor is fortunate to have another chance after flipping his SUV on the way to a home game against Washington this past season. Reagor suffered a gash on the top of his head and a broken orbital bone around an eye, the wounds sidelining him the last 11 games of the regular season and all of the playoffs. The Colts replaced Reagor with veteran Anthony McFarland, who had barely arrived in a trade with Tampa Bay, and wound up starting for the Super Bowl XLI champions. The Eagles apparently are confident Reagor is all the way back from the near tragic crash, one in which the second-round pick of the Denver Broncos in 1999 crashed through his windshield. The Colts kept Reagor on the active roster until late in the season, thinking he might be able to return for the playoffs. Ultimately they put him on the non-football injury list, where former Eagles defensive tackle Corey Simon was residing. 124 Posted March 21, 2007 Share Posted March 21, 2007 Now the Illadelph has 5 DT's in: Monte Reagor Mike Patterson Broderick Bunkley Sam Rayburn Darwin Walker At least one of the 5 is going to go and you would think Patterson & Bunkley are sure to stay so it looks like Walker or Rayburn or possibly both are on their way out.
