war ensemble
is anone interested in the draft, because if you are this is the place to show that. alexei cherepanov, the Rangers #17 pick, seems to be a great steal. hopefully they have no problems getting him out of Russia, because he was the #5 top rated prospect, he just lost stock because of that one issue. hopefully it all goes fine because he broke one of pavel bure's records. Ghost
I don't think people are interested in the NHL period.
faba
This guy dropped to the Rangers because of the Russia federation issue- he is supposed to be a lethal offensive threat at his level. Nothing to lose.
Cmart28Coles87
This guy was a complete steal. He was rated as the number 5 prospect in the draft and we got him at 17. He's a great goal scorer and played very well in the Russian league and he's only 18. Nice pick.
Jimmy 2 Times
He dropped because of his questionable work ethic. That and Russian stock is low with many teams that passed on him. Most of the teams between where he was supposed to go and where he went have had problems with lazy and moody Russian players. All he needs to do is give a two week notice and he can leave his Russian team. Malkin did it. He is committed this year though, by choice. IMO-great steal by the Rangers. If the kid shows up and works hard, top three player this year. Well worth taking him where he went.
Jimmy 2 Times
BTW- the record he broke was Bure's rookie goal. Cherepanov scored 18, I believe, in a league that's known for defense and very difficult to score in.

It's hard to do something like that on talent alone.
Jimmy 2 Times
Yeah, I was hoping Tallon could get back into round 1 and grab him or Espo. Penguins make me sick with their luck(in lotto and players dropping to them).
war ensemble
Yeah, he scored 18 goals. I don't buy the whole questionable work ethic thing. I think hey're just saying that because of the other Russians around him. He's going to spend another year in the Russian league then go to the NHL. He seems really excited to play for the Rangers as his favorite player growing up was Jagr. Plus, he has a mullet.
