TomShane
http://www.sportsline.com/nhl/story/8625317 Teen phenom Crosby in talks with Swiss club, agent says Highly touted Canadian hockey prospect Sidney Crosby is in contract talks with Swiss club Lugano, his agent told the Canadian Press on Wednesday, and considering bypassing the NHL for a possible more lucrative offer. Wow, the NHL needs this kid to revitalize a dead game when and if hockey starts back up and the kid is going to get MORE money to play in Switzerland. Sure, it's probably just an agent making some noise, but if Crosby does sign with Lugano, the NHL is really going to take a hit here. ALready alot of foreign born players have been saying that they'd prefer to stay in Europe regardless. If Crosby pulls the same stunt, the NHL is going to become a minor league sport. I'm surprised ESPN hasn't decided to air some league games from Europe just to spite the NHL for screwing up the TV schedule. Now, if marquee guys are disappearing to play over there, someone is going to put the on TV.

stormshadow19
Sid's not going to play in Sweeden. His dream is to play in the NHL. He'd still only be allowed to make the rookie minimum, if and when he does come to the NHL, as it is. And, at that, the earnings potential in North America is so much more than that in Europe. You figure he gets a Labatt blue endorsement, a Canadian tire endorsement, and he's already making that 3 mill a year.

Bugg
There's no guarantees. Plus, in the left wing lock/trap world of the NHL, he'll be lucky to score 15 goals and 40 assists. Two words of warning-ALEXANDER DAIGLE. Which at least means grabbing Pam Anderson's fake melons could happen for the lad.
