LionelRichie
with all of the talk about taking long or gholston @ 6 i wondered if anyone knew the success rate of using a high 1st rd pick on a player and changing their position? who was the last player taken in the top half of the draft to play a different position than they played in college? i know urlacher kind of fits this mold, but who else has successfully made the transition? BroadwayJoe12
Demarcus Ware, Kamerion Wimbley and Shawne Merriman as of recently. I made a very long post concerning just this topic in the gholston with #6 pick, I don't wanna annoy people and post the same thing over and over, but it's definately worth a look. I doubt anyone could answer this one. There are position changes (G to T; DT to DE, DL to LB) and there are position changes (QB to WR or RB or DB, etc). It'd be tough to group them all together and come up with anything meaningful. IMO.
