Greenseed3
A lot of buzz has inevitably hit the Meadowlands. Here is the best-case scenerio Mock. Trades: -Vilma to DET for Shaun Rogers -Drob to JAX for Mike Peterson -Coles to JAX for 3rd round pick (being gratious) FA Signings: -OT Flozell Adams (picked up to solidify the RT position, as well as back-up the LT should something happen to Brick) -CB Asante Samuel (picked up despite hefty contract demands) -WR Bryant Johnson (To fill-in for Coles departure) 1: DE/OLB Vernon Gholston 2: OT Gosder Cherilous 3: ILB Philip Wheeler 3b: OG Roy Shoening 4: DT Atyhba Rubin 5: QB Josh Johnson 6: SS Jamie Silva 7: FB Peyton Hillis ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Starting D: Ellis-Rogers-Coleman Gholston-Peterson-Harris-Thomas Samuel-Elam-Rhodes-Revis Startin O: Ferguson-Shoening-Mangold-Moore-Adams Clemens Thomas-Hillis Johnson-Cotchery Baker
gangreenman
Samuels and Adams is very unlikely. Not only do they both want a ton of money, and not only will Adams probably prefer to play for a contender at his age, but when you add those to the fact that they are two of the few great players in this very thin FA pool.... Getting them both will be a very difficult task. My mock coming tomorrow or the day after (around the same time as my next "Around the League" editorial. Replace him with a WR who could turn into a #1; neither Johnson nor Cotchery fit that role. Or that OG Albert if he's still there & use that extra 3rd on a WR. Also I doubt we end up with Samuel. Tannenbaum won't sign ANY player for that kind of coin, and I wouldn't want him to.

drago
if you are going to draft Cherilous, you might consider playing the man. I'd take half of Boston College's starting O-line, most any year, to start for an NFL squad. I like the defense except Thomas is still starting...not too much you can do about that but it just sucks anyway.
Irish Jet
OK, that is terribly unrealistic. We're not getting Samuel and Adams, personally I dount we'll get either. Also we have a 3rd round pick playing LG, that is not good. If we do draft Cherilous we don't sign Adams.
#27TheDominator
I don't know if it's realistic, but I'd be ecstatic if it happened. The defense would be MUCH improved and Rubin with a 4th rounder would actually be a legit future NT prospect. I doubt Rubin lasts that long. Our offense is worse than our D and less is done to improve it (losing Coles will hurt) but I wouldn't complain because the line is better AND has depth. Hopefully that will make our skill players look skilled.
