Could the Jets have caught up to the Pats?

The Jets have 4 west coast road games this season. Winning out there is difficult in itself and 2 games are vs 2007 playoff teams. Then, Tenn at home. And, the AFCE to contend with. Miami wont have another season like last, so take away at least 1 win from last season.

Pennie and Clemenzo are just backups. Nothing special.

and you are a backup fan among other things!!

Given the parity in this league its no stretch to say a 4-12 team one season can become a 12-4 team then very next season. Especially with free agency the way it is and the immediate impact a lot of draftees are making in their first season. I don't expect the Pats to fall off much with Brady and Belichick at the helm, but it would be hard to imagine them repeating a perfect regular season again. The Jets on the other hand can only go up and by the looks of the offseason so far if they have a winning season it wouldn's surprise anyone. So technically speaking I'd say they are catching up to the Pats. ;)

#1.So what are you exactly saying? The Jets have 4 west coast road games against teams that they've beaten before on the west coast....

Last time I heard, every game was difficult "in itself".

#2. 2 games are against 2007 playoff teams...Question, does that mean that we will lose these games...because they were in the playoffs?

#3. Miami wont have another season like last. You're probably right, and neither will the Jets.

#4. "Tennessee at home"....I guess you said this because it was supposed to strike fear or something??? Tenn had a good season last year....but you're making it seem like they were an unstoppable 18-1 team last year lmao.

#5. "The AFC East to contend with". Okay, The Pats, Dolphins, Bills and the Jets. What changes have the Dolphins made so far to go from 1-15 to a 8-8 team? 8-8 wont even get you to the playoffs....yet we see no signs of the Dolphins breaking even, especially with Jason Taylor now on the show "dancing with the stars"...we see where his interest is at. The bills now got Marcus Stroud....which is a good addition. Our issues with the bills werent their Defense though, it was their running attack which we just fix with the addition of the 3-4, Kris Jenkins, Harris and Pace. However, not to take away the fact that they do have Marcus....we have, just with the additions, a top 5 offensive line in the entire NFL. Im not worried about taking a game from the bills this season.

Now as for the Pats. The Pats lost 3...count'em, 3 DB's this free agency. The reason why that is bad is because the Corner Back position is in my opinion the most depleted position in football right now. The Pats didnt just lose 1 CB either. They lost one of the best in football in Asante, A very good one in Gay, and a solid one in Wilson. The Patriots will simply not be able to make up for those crucial losses to their team. This is why the Pats are so desperate for Ty Law. So in otherwords, The Pats have a GREAT CHANCE of not going 16 and 0 this year.

Also, with the new O-line our Quarterback is guartanteed atleast an extra second in the pocket, and to a QB thats irreplaceble. To give an extra second to read through your options and for WR's to break free only gives the Pats with a now limited secondary and very old linebackers a disadvantage. So, Im not too shook of the AFC East either....and neither should the JETS!

The Jets have a chance this year. many people said the same about the Giants....."change the QB, fire the coach....they're not a playoff team, they wont get pass the first round as a 5th seed etc". last time I checked they're the reigning champs. Not the AFC East, not Tennessee, Not the Pats, and not the other playoff teams that you're talking about.

Could you express your reasons in a more concrete explaination? Because from here you just sound like a Patriots fan and nothing more.
