We need to win this game the old fashioned way

Huge break Al faced the Twins.

Any other offense and this might be a 7-0 game.

That's assuming he uses the same approach verses a better hitting team ... which is impossible to assume

Bottom line ... 5 innings, 1 run

Got a lot of runners on base, but battled his @$$ off and gave the Yankees a real chance to win

Not his fault the offense got skunked

What exact approach was he using?

He nibbled against a weak offense.

Boston was pure adrenlin. Anaheim and tonight was what Leiter has left.

He is lucky he got through 5 innings.

The Twins left a dozen runners on base Ham.

Well it sure beats admitting you may have been wrong

I mean, it's not as if Al deserves any credit for battling to keep all but one of those runners from scoring ... battling like an old pro ... where some punk kid like May or Redding would have got his @$$ handed to him

Nope, it was all luck

Oh I agree with that point Ham.

Al is and always has been a competitor.

I appreciate that, GS ... no kidding

That's a stand-up thing to say

That's why I loved the move when the Yankees picked up Leiter ... I know he's past his prime, but he's a tough old pro who will battle and give you his all ... unlike those nitwits we were throwing out there like sacrificial lambs
