Our defense is a disaster, from Sutton to Ellis to Thomas to whoever that white guy in the secondary is. DO we have the ability to switch back to the 4-3 if need be? He also carries a lot of weight on that body obviously- these guys can be fragile...especially their backs. Mangini better figure something out if we have to play without him- because it will be right back to teams running the ball down our throats. And for god sakes, the pass rush still is horrendous. Im sorry, Sione Pouha cant be our NT if we expect to win football games. we'll never see a 4-3 on the field. we didn't even see it when we had 4-3 players last year. what a difference a nose tackle makes. we sucked out loud but can overcome it with better scheming to mask the flaw that is pouha. Who? Lowery? He's got potential, but the guy got beaten like a rented mule on that 3rd down. They came to the line, Rivers saw him and immediately started screaming. What do you think he was yelling about? Alerting the WR that the next Deion Sanders was covering him? I can't see blaming the coaching staff for relying on Jenkins. Jenkins replaced DRob. Would you be any happier if they had DRob out there as his backup? It's not like a contingency plan was available. Well, there in lies the problem with the 3-4. You have absolutely zero flexibilty when the NT gets hurt. And we all know Manigni isnt the most flexible person in the world.
