MagicBizkit87
If they lose tomorrow's game, and start the season 0-8 against the Red Sox. The guy at least needs to be warned.

MagicBizkit87
I don't see anything wrong with the question, though I've been begging them to fire this moron since last season, after he let Mussina throw to Manny. So yeah, very early last season.
piney
They would look foolish to warn the manager of a team that has been in first place and after a sweep would only be, what one game out? Plus any real thunder from them would in effect have them admitting they made a mistake with Torre...
MagicBizkit87
Well the possibility of being 0-8 against your rival is unacceptable, and he needs to know that.
piney
Well the possibility of being 0-8 against your rival is unacceptable, and he needs to know that. not really relevant right now... being 0-8 against the Sox is not as big a deal as it seems....if the Yanks go on to sweep the Mets and take the AL East lead again, the record against the Sox is a moot point. Rival or not, it isn't that big of a deal except for how it affects the standings.

piney
It could affect the players on this teams confidence come playoff team if the Yankees play the Red Sox in the ALCS. I don't think so...maybe a younger team, but some of these guys have already beaten the Sox in the playoffs and if this team wins the division that should be a confidence booster enough on it's own. These players know the deal, Beckett was great and AJ wasn't and Wang and Hughes put them in too deep of a hole. To make a big deal out of the record against the Sox right now is a little short sighted.

Otter
Girardi knows that this team has to make a playoff run this season or he is going to get canned. He is not going to get fired mid-season, unless something extraordinary happens. Hank and Hal aren't as crazy as their old man. George (circa 1985) probably would have fired Girardi already.
