But when you combine age and performance, CC is probably on top. I rate the CC signing above the Carl Pavano investment. And a bit above the Whitson signing back in the mid-1980s. In reality, prior to CC, Mussina was the best FA pitching investment the Yanks ever made. Kind of wish Moose had stuck around for one more year so he could have been a part of this team.
