DMaynard
Years ago before the age of specialization, kickers and punters played other positions. Usually as back-ups, but sometimes as starters, even stars (Paul Horning, George Blanda). Most of you probably know that on the Super Bowl III Champ Jets, Jim Turner was the FG kicker and Curley Johnson was the punter. Here is the Jets trivia. What were their respective positions that they served as capable back-ups?
Greenranger
Curley Johnson was used at Running Back. Don't know about Turner. Maybe QB?
DMaynard
Curley Johnson was used at Running Back. Don't know about Turner. Maybe QB? Very good. Curley backed up Boozer and Mathis at RB and Turner was the 3rd string QB behind Namath and Babe Parelli. Turner had a pretty good arm.
