The Troll
I know that the stakes weren't as high, but I think that losing that game in the manner that we did forever desensitized me to playoff defeat. Outplaying them the entire game and then having TWO ******* chances to win at the end of regulation and failing miserably both times? It doesn't get any more heartbreaking than that. This one hurts, but not like that. I'm sure there will come a point in time when the Jets will experience a more heartbreaking loss, but as of this moment, coming off of two straight AFC Championship game defeats, I can honestly say that the Jets have taken bigger sh*ts on my heart. So, hooray 2004 Pittsburgh chokejob! You're the reason I'm not in a noose right now.
Blackout
gotta agree, we started out that year 5-0 and the PAts only had 2 titles back then we could have kept them from a 3rd (and we lost because Herm was too stupid to involve Cotchery in the offense at that time)
Irish Jet
2004 was a far, far worse game to endure. BUT the implications made this one so much more painful. Never thought we stood a chance in 2004, mostly because we didn't. Was sure this was our year. F*cking sure of it.
Blackout
i thought 2004 was the year because the evil REd Sox finally won their own championship so i hoped the tables would turn
madmikeisback
This was a much better team than in 2004. There is no way they would've beat the cheaters that year. And it wasn't for the first SB since 69.
AVM
Then I am very, very envious of you. This sucks.
The Troll
This team was better than the '04 team. Although, I do think that coaching played a very large role in that. Simply, this team had a coach. The '04 team did not. My point was that the loss to the Steelers in '04 was so painful that even a loss as terrible as this one pales in comparison. That game ripped my heart out in such a horrific manner that not even conference championship losses by superior Jets teams can match the pain I felt that January night in 2005. SenorGato
Not even close to 2004. The QB's arm is still attached to him and it's been 2 almost completely full NFL seasons.
madmikeisback
I didn't feel like they had a chance to win it all in 04. They did this year. Thats why it's worse.
