This is good news that hopefully turns into great news...

A union source told NFL Network’s Albert Breer on Friday that “we’ve made more real activity in the last 24-48 hours than we did in two years.” A second union source acknowledged the forward motion, but emphasized that major issues remain in the negotiation.

I hope it's genuine and not just posturing so both sides can tell the fans "we tried so hard to avoid a work stoppage but it was unavoidable"

This is in fact an aspiration from both sides. The NFLPA and the NFL are awaiting the results of the vote on the "Wisconsin Anti Union trust." Since the Green Bay Packers are privately owned by the city & people of Green Bay, they and their players are affected by any changes in Wisconsin Anti-Trust issues.

A change to those issues could alter the way the NFLPA can handle players in the NFL & it will allow players to sue the NFL for anti-trust issues. In the same breath, the NFLPA disbandment would mean collusion on their part, since any contractual agreements by a 3rd party (union) could only discuss changes in salary & nothing else. The NFL could use this as a legal attempt to keep the NFLPA intact & then cause a LOCK OUT...

Either way, lets see what happens next Friday...

it will be resolved soon enough. The owners really lost leverage when the judge ruled they couldn't touch the TV revenue.

Suck it Peter King

Yes any way you slice it and no matter what they say, that was a huge blow to the owners.

Interesting.

They are still talking and there is no lockout. Hopefully, the two sides can continue down the path.
