kelly
The Giants are playing the Jets on Saturday. This, of course, means nothing. (It's only the preseason.) So we decided to take a look at a matchup that does matter: Which team does the New York area prefer ? Based on Facebook FB +3.61% data, it isn't much of a contest.Ahead of the teams' annual preseason game, The Wall Street Journal examined data from Facebook, which tabulated how many Facebook users in each metro-area county have "liked" the Giants' or Jets' team page (or both). The study included New York City, Long Island, four nearby New York state counties and parts of Connecticut and New Jersey. All but one county registered at least 10,000 likes. The results weren't pretty for New York's junior NFL chapter. The Giants won every county, as shown in the map below—including all of the Connecticut and New Jersey ones by 2-to-1 margins or more. The greatest disparity (74.7%-25.3%) was in New Haven County, Conn. (The Giants briefly played at the Yale Bowl in the 1970s.) The margins on Long Island were much closer, but still slightly in favor of the Giants. The Jets declined to comment. This means the Jets may be the only NFL team that doesn't own a single county nationwide. In January, Facebook produced a national map showing that all 32 NFL teams owned at least one American county—including the Jets, whose only one was Nassau, where the team used to be based. But now, by a 50.7%-49.3% count, the Giants have taken the lead in the Jets' old territory. Bleedin Green
Who gives a ****? Besides, what do you expect? The Jets' last Super Bowl was 44 years ago, the Giants' was last year. The average person isn't exactly known for their undying commitment to a particular sports team.
slats
They'd have Nassau and Suffolk if they hadn't bailed on Long Island and signed off as the permanent second class citizen in Giants Stadium II.

CobraVerde
NY only cares about who wins. Giants have titles. it's obvious and doesnt take a poll to figure this out.
