Reposting this from reddit as I thought it was enlightening and should help you guys get an idea of our Snacks replacement:

Just got done watching the W1 game PIT/NE and I'm blown away by McLendon's play. It's impossible to just go by one game when you judge a player, but he looked every bit of Snacks, and then some. Very, very similar. They both clog up the middle, taking on 2-3 guys and being stout, they both can move laterally from sideline to sideline while controlling the line of scrimmage. McLendon however seems to be more explosive, he's got a better first step, he's a better pass rusher. Doesn't say much, they both aren't going to be factors in the passing game, but he probably has more potential as a pass rusher, he's more athletic but just as strong from what I've seen against the Patriots. Anyway, let's get to it. To help you identify him a little bit easier, he wears #90 (with dreads).

Great footwork. Moves laterally, controls his gap, gets doubled teamed even, is stout. This is one of those things that made Snacks so special, one of those things that 90% of the NT's can't do.

Great technique, uses his hands well, doesn't let people lock on and tie him up. Another thing that made Snacks so good, he never let guys get their hands on his chest ("inside"). No running room inside.

How great is that? Gets double teamed, slaps both guys aside, makes both of them faceplant, pocket collapses, he should have gotten a TFL there but the LB beat him to it. But McLendon made that play.

Goal line stand. Doesn't get pushed back, controls his guy, shoves him aside, executes his job perfectly.

Another goal line stand. Again the Patsies avoid running in his direction. He takes on 2 guys again, doesn't get pushed back, actually is able to penetrate a little but he's too far away to make a play.

Watch his explosiveness. Impressive first step, we never saw that from Snacks. McLendon has some ability to shoot gaps and be more penetrating than Snacks was.

Great bullrush right here, lining up across the RG. Pushes him all the way into Brady and gets a QB hit, forcing an incompletion.

Controls the entire LOS again. Great lateral movement, the Center once again faceplants, making it impossible for the RB to cut back inside, being forced to run out of bounds and lose yards. Again, McClendon statistically gets no credit, but that's his play.

This is the video of the GIF I posted in the other thread I believe. Takes on 2 guys again, doesn't move an inch, stands there like a wall. RB runs right into his own guys, rush for no gain.

This is just ONE GAME, these aren't his 2015 highlights! Very impressive. To be honest I can't even tell who played the Pats better. Now, to be fair Snacks played at a similar level for the entire year. If McLendon's play doesn't fall off severely I think we found ourselves another stud NT who will come in and dominate inside. Hope this helped a little bit for anybody that hasn't heard too much of McLendon yet.
