We are beyond incompetence....

So has there been a worse season in recent memory?

  • Season over in October.  Meaningless games from Nov on...
  • Overpaid declining vets
  • Overpaid slacking "star" in Wilk
  • Probably losing a young star who hustles like crazy because of Wilk deal
  • Worst starting QB in the league making 12mil
  • Crap young backup QBs who we drafted over young stars playing great for other teams
  • Ranked 31st in cap spending with 500k available (we're spending the most to be absolutely horrible)
  • Joke of a head coach
  • Based on cap spending and results... gotta say crap GM too right?
  • Not even attempting to play for the future.  Just williningly wasting the season.

Bright spot?  Some of us love the stadium.

Gotta be one of the worst seasons.

Jets got away with a pretty obvious PI on Gronk earlier in the game.

That's complete BS, Gronk was the 1st one to push off on that play. It should have drawn an offensive PI first. It was after that the Jet CB grabbed his arm. Announcers even mentioned the straight arm into the CB chest to get separation.

as bad as getting away with tackling a player after he waived for a fair catch? as bad as spiller wearing their defender around his waist almost like a cape while he struggled to attempt to get to the ball? Don't even try to defend this officiating crew this was a very poorly called game strongly in the Patriots favor.

They threw the flag! When have you ever seen a penalty flag thrown on the Jets & the refs convene to discuss & pick up the flag?

HOW ABOUT NEVER, EVER! Crock of sh*t! I've watched enough football to know. The bad calls didn't come close to evening out in this game.

I get a sense of paranoia is setting in.  Please it is only a game

Just End The Season.

Watch the game it is rigged. No defending it because it is obvious. The NFL wanted the pats to win helped them win and it is so obvious they may as well have taken their wieners out and smacked us in the face with it.

Watch Westworld.

Exact same concept as the NFL. Scripts.

Doesn't matter if the fans know it or not. You'll keep coming back. No difference between football fans and people that constantly fill casinos. You know the house always wins, but you still go.

So let me get this straight, the league actually believed (feared?) that the Jets had such a great chance at beating NE they instructed the refs to make sure the Patsies win? The at-the-time 8-2 Patsies with one of the best QBs in the game, vs the at-the-time 3-7 Jets with the worst QB in the game?

And the assistance amounted to one split-second "bang-bang" PI call, and picking up a flag on a punt return penalty? Like that made all the difference.

Maybe the Jets should change their helmets to silver to go along with all the tinfoil-hat wearing conspiracy theorists. :D

Not sure its that complex to be honest, where they are thinking about chances of winning. Some teams clearly get huge benefits when it comes to the refs. You can literally call holding or illegal contact on every play in the NFL. They use those two penalties to help the teams they want to win, The Pats and Giants have awful, terrible Olines, yet, because they can egregiously hold on every play without it ever being called, it really does not matter, so they can put their resources elsewhere.

This still implies a large amount of collusion - there are plenty refs in the league, to imply that they all agree on who they want to win / not win really doesn't have any credibility.
