I remember when I lived in Brooklyn and there was a police officer’s funeral on 4th and 96th (?) and there were at least a 1000 cops and the bagpipers were incredible. We vacationed down in the Outer Banks a few years in a row and one house we lived in one year, a few houses down, every night at sundown a piper in full regalia would stand up on a gazebo built above the dunes overlooking the sea and play some plaintive tale of a song.
