Just Like That, Jets Becoming Sack Masters

Give Jets defensive coordinator Gregg Williams a ton of credit for the work he has done with the Jets this season.  Having lost his top five inside linebackers, multiple starting cornerbacks and his best outside linebacker in Jordan Jenkins for several games this season, he’s managed to keep the defense motivated and largely competitive.

And in case you hadn’t noticed, Williams has been dialling up defensive pressure that has the Jets racking up sacks from every level of the defense.

In the last three games, the #Jets have recorded 16 sacks, the most in a 3-game span since 1981.

According to the Jets communications twitter account, Gang Green has logged 16 sacks over the past three games with safety Jamal Adams leading the way with six.  After that is Jenkins with 3, resurgent defensive lineman Nathan Shepherd has a pair of sacks to lead the charge.

If this is what Williams can generate with his current personnel, just imagine what he could do if Joe Douglas manages to add a true edge rusher this off-season.
