That won't last very long given how much money is being pushed into future void years, all of which are going to bring plenty of dead money.

Plus, the current lack of dead money is in no small part because of JD definitely being quite guilty of the sunk cost fallacy.  Some of the top paid guys on this current roster range from total failures (Uzomah, Tomlinson, Wilson) to among the league's most overpaid (Mosley).  Yet they continue to stick around regardless and be given additional guarantees in exchange for void years.

If it works out in the short-term then people will gladly accept the gamble, but if it doesn't work out things will turn ugly very fast.
