Interesting statistic;

It's an unusual start for any NFL team, playing on the road on MNF in its season opener, then on the road again in Week 2. Putting a "new millennium" spin on this topic, since the 2000 season, 40 teams have been scheduled to open away on Monday night. Only three of those have then been scheduled to stay away from home for Game 2 — the 2001 Giants (at Denver, at Kansas City), the 2010 Ravens (at the Jets in their first regular-season game at MetLife Stadium, at Cincinnati) and the 2011 Raiders (at Denver, at Buffalo).

What I'd REALLY like to know is...

How many have ever had 3 games in 10/11 days to open... or in general?

My guess is not many.

Pittsburgh did, and are 2-0. We're 1-1, Raiders are 1-1, and Rams are 0-2.

KC started with two HOME games, and are 2-0.  Dolphins, Lions and Eagles are all 1-1.

That's 4 teams out of 32.

Just doing some quick math that comes out to 12.5% of the league, which is a pretty low number.

Pittsburgh played the Falcons and the Broncos - not exactly intimidating opponents.

Out of those 4 teams, how many of them traveled across the country for their opening game, which was then followed by 2 successive short weeks in a row coming off of 2 road games?

My guess is exactly .03% of the league, which is the equivalent of 1 team and that team just happens to be us.

Our opening two games were definitely the most disadvantageous. Both in terms of distance and rest time.

Raiders maybe had the second toughest, with a long road trip and a tough opponent, but that was off the back of a more "local" Week 1 road trip. Rams had a Sunday night game in Detroit followed by a trip to Arizona, neither of which are as heavy on the cross country travel.

And none of these teams then have a Thursday night game on top of all that either!
