NIGHT STALKER
http://www.nytimes.com/2006/07/23/sports/football/23coles.html?_r=3&oref=slogin&oref=slogin&oref=login After reading this, I came away thinking Coles isn't really thrilled being back with the Jets...should be interesting if Pennington doesn't start or for that matter...cut. aec4
Pennington won't be cut in 2006. His contract is guaranteed for 2006 and the cap hit would hurt.
Maxman
It would be nice if they can get Coles the ball and he stays healthy and puts up big #'s. He doesn't like hearing the Santana Moss stuff. The best way to put it behind everyone is to outperform him. Coles seems like a nice guy with a TON of pride. Those are good things. He has had it rough and just needs to put it in the past. The Jets being competitive would help him do that. Less distractions around when you are worried about football (unlike what went on here last season). One good thing. Coles always talks about his hatred for coaches and GMs that passed him up in the draft. Our combo of Tangini had no say in the matter back then. So it is a clean slate, should be anyway. Can't blame him. How many coaches and qbs have tried to get the ball to him in the last couple of years?
