Listening to all the sports shows cover the Yankee Stadium deal and then saying how George will legally circumvent the luxury tax by deducting stadium costs from gross revenues. You gotta give the man his props for this. Somehow I think Bud is in his offfice going...."Son of a bitch!!!" No one ever said he was a bad buisnessman. They seem to be pocketing every bit of revenue that is being "shared" by the teams over the threshhold. In all honesty, I cant blame the Yanks for pulling this most recent act of egregious over-spending that is crippling baseball. The last collective bargaining agreement hasnt worked at all. The Yanks became MORE galvanized to try to ruin baseball...they simply are their own worst enemy and brought in the WRONG guys...and the bottom feeders are perfectly happy to remain just that. This was supposed to curtail the Yanks and assist the bottom feeders. The only result is the margainal teams are reluctant to creep near the threshhold because paying a luxury tax would KILL them!
