I think most Met fans would agree, this team is a talented team, whether they have the heart to finish the job or not, we'll find out by Monday. Lets face it, the Wilpons love Omar and he isn't going anywhere, and for the most part he's done a pretty good job. The disappointment stems from the fact that the Mets choked away the playoffs last year and is in danger of that again this year. We're disappointed because we expect so much more from this team. Why do we expect more, because this is a talented roster. As a GM, your biggest job is to put together a talented roster, anything else is pretty much out of their hand. You can't argue that this team is talented, but at the same time Omar deserves to be fired because this team sucks. Lets not forget, the Mets didn't even matter before Omar came in, he convinced the Wilpons to spend money, and we're involved in the baseball discussion the last 3 year. Are we going to sit here and say the Mets have a bleak future ? They've got a good group of core guys who are relatively young, and you throw Dan Murphy in there who looks like a stud. 3/5 of the rotation is set for the next 5 years with Santana, Pelfrey, Maine. Phillie if anyone, is collapsing but our pen is too bad to take advantage of it so far. If our pen had just been as good as their past career numbers, the Mets would be 7-10 games up. The hitters for the first time have to take the brunt for Wednesday nights lost. Mets key contributing (good or bad) white players for the racially motivated: Wright, Church, David Murphy, Pelfrey, Maine, Wagner, Heilman, Joe Nelson, Schneider, Schoeneweiss, Evans. (11 of 25).
