Gone is cornerback Dre’ Bly, according to the team’s official web site. Bly arrived via trade two years ago. He was due to earn a base salary of $3.25 million in 2009. The move makes him an unrestricted free agent. He spent his first four years with the Rams, then four with the Lions. He could fit on a good defense as a solid nickel back--maybe a #2 guy for some teams, although he's on the downside of his career.
