Barton
He's still a free agent, as far as I know he isn't injured, and unlike some other guys, he's not an automatic out. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/splits?playerId=3199&type=batting3 career 2nd baseman but maybe he could slide to 3rd? At worst, you know he'll at least match what Ransom can do. And he'll give the team a proven utility vet, because as usual the depth of infielders on this team is garbage. Other than injury there is never much chance of the Yankee infielders taking many days off. I would not kill them over lack of infield depth. I don't know the topic your talking about but somehow I disagree with you. You don't make things clear.
KudosForND
If they sign him,Cano would play third. Ive heard last year that alot of people in yankees organization actually see him ending up as a thirdbasemen anyway..

Morrissey
Guys, A-Rod is only going to be out 3-4 weeks. Why would they move Cano or Teixeira, or anyone else for that matter, out of position, for a such a short period of time? I wouldn't be against bringing in Mark Grudzielanek to play 3B for a few weeks, but I think we can go with this lienup for a few weeks: LF Damon (L) SS Jeter ® 1B Teixeira (S) DH Matsui (L) C Posada (S) RF Nady ® 2B Cano (L) 3B Ransom ® CF Gardner (L) Once A-Rod gets back, I can see us going with something like this: LF Damon (L) SS Jeter ® 1B Teixeira (S) 3B Rodriguez ® 2B Cano (L) C Posada (S) DH Matsui (L) RF Nady ® CF Gardner (L)
Otter
Cano has had enough problems at second. I can't see the Yankees moving him to third for a month. I have no problem with putting Ransom at third for the first month of the season. This pitching staff is very solid and has the ability to carry the team when the offense isn't as explosive.
