JohnnyHector Posted December 15, 2009 Share Posted December 15, 2009 Can't completely agree with Mauer, as he only had around 100 plate appearances for the first half of the decade and wasn't so ridiculously good over the last 5 years (aside from this past season) to ignore that fact. I'd say that as a whole (ignoring possible/likely steroid use), Pudge from '00-'04 was better than Mauer from '05-'09. Obviously, the guy that's still at the top of his game will garner more attention for these types of lists. The same goes for Jeff Kent over Utley - better body of work for the entire decade IMO.
