It sounded like an extension will be in the offing if Holmes keeps his, um, nose clean. MT said the #Jets want him "for years to come Holmes: "I'm accountable for my actions, and I'm ready to move forward in my new career with the #Jets." Holmes: "I was very shocked" by the trade. Didn't hear about it until about 9:20 p.m. ET last night. #Jets Holmes: "I'm going to be on time for every meeting, and front and center." (We'll see about that, of course). Holmes said he hopes to stay on Twitter, despite getting in trouble for his posts last month telling a heckler to go kill himself. Holmes said he accepts his four-game NFL suspension and doesn't plan to be a big talker. "My actions will speak louder." #Jets Holmes continue to stress the word "accountable." Sounds like he's been coached. #Jets Holmes said that repeating his past marijuana use with the #Jets wouldn't be accepted by Jets management. Holmes says he feels like he "let [Goodell] down" with his current suspension. Blames it on being young, making mistakes. #Jets Holmes says his decision to urge a Twitter follower to go kill himself "wasn't me." Admits it was a mistake that won't be repeated.
