06:33 AM ET 04.18 | The Dolphins made a big statement to the rest of the AFC East by completing a trade with Denver to acquire wide receiver Brandon Marshall. But a couple of more million dollars in one direction and it could have been the New York Jets, in addition to all of their other offseason moves, who made the big play for Marshall. According to sources, in late March the Jets were prepared to sign Marshall to an offer sheet, which would have sent the No. 29 overall pick in this week's draft to Denver. The deal only fell apart when Marshall and the Jets couldn't reach an agreement on a long-term deal.
