Bears released DT Tommie Harris.

The Bears reportedly had some interest in bringing him back only if he took a sizable paycut, but evidently Harris wasn't willing to do so. The former Pro Bowler was slated to make $2.3 million in 2011, in addition to being due a $2.5 million roster bonus. Harris' play has declined rapidly in recent seasons, as he had only 13 tackles and two sacks in 2010 and was even benched on occasion.

He's toast. Harris was exceptional at coming off the snap with acceleration and power. It's gone - he knows it and so does anybody scouting him. Plus - he makes Bob Sanders look durable.
