KudosForND
Bears released DT Tommie Harris. The Bears reportedly had some interest in bringing him back only if he took a sizable paycut, but evidently Harris wasn't willing to do so. The former Pro Bowler was slated to make $2.3 million in 2011, in addition to being due a $2.5 million roster bonus. Harris' play has declined rapidly in recent seasons, as he had only 13 tackles and two sacks in 2010 and was even benched on occasion.

Another $2 million is available through incentives. 2011: $2.3125 million (+ $2.5 million roster bonus due 6/1 + $500,000 workout bonus), 2012: $2.5 million, 2013: Free Agent

#27TheDominator
Well, these are the kinds of guys to sign. Not saying him in particular, but his salary was $2.3M and the Bears were on the hook for $4.8M. Good chance these types of players will sign for somewhere in between. The Jets are dealing with a similar issue with Woody.
NJ
He's toast. Harris was exceptional at coming off the snap with acceleration and power. It's gone - he knows it and so does anybody scouting him. Plus - he makes Bob Sanders look durable.
