flgreen
Taking a second-day look at the Jets' 2011 schedule ... ESPN colleague John Clayton passed along an interesting nugget regarding three-game road "trips" in the NFL. Based on recent history, only one out of three teams emerges with a winning record. It will be a daunting challenge for the Jets, who are on the road in Weeks 3 to 5 -- at Oakland, Baltimore and New England. Let's take a closer look. Since 1990, there have been 110 instances where teams have played three straight games on the road, according to NFL.com. Here's a breakdown on how those teams fared: 3-0 -- Nine times 2-1 -- 30 times 1-2 -- 53 times 0-3 -- 18 times For the record, the Jets aren't the only team in this boat. The Cardinals, Bills, Panthers, Browns and Colts also have three in a row away from home. The Jets should be better prepared to handle it than most teams because, after all, they played three straight road games in each of the last two postseasons, going 2-1 and 2-1. The last time they did it in the regular season was 1982, the strike-shortened season, when they closed with three straight -- and followed that with three straight on the road in the playoffs. Back in the Shea Stadium days, they used to spend a lot of Septembers on the road because they had to wait until the Mets were done.
faba
Two real tough road games there and a place Oakland we have not been very good at. It is going to be challenging.
JetsFanInDenver
Sounds like the NFL schedule makers went on a mental lockout as well!
BroadwayJ667
while true, the thing is that one is on the west coast, the first game. Then the next two are still on the east coast and only about 1 to 4 hours away so it's not terrible

JiFtheOracle
This team has won on the road in the playoffs 4 times in the last 2 years and last year we beat Manning and Brady back to back in their homes. I'm not concerned.
Larz
funny how he didn't mention the jets getting hammered with 2 home games to open the season, and 2 home games going into a bye
