McShay rode the coat tails of Mel Kiper and Mayock rides the coat tails of McShay. If he can be a draft guru anyone can. This guy is terrible at in game announcing as color man. He's not even charged with predicting anything or getting anything right, his sole purpose is to act as a foil to Kiper and incite the same sort of tension that generated ratings around the draft way back when Bill Tobin the ex-Colts GM and Kiper went back and forth. In other words, McShay's job is to troll Kiper. Mayock is actually better than both of them at this stuff, it's when the NFL network extends Mayock into other NFL stuff that he looks like a know-nothing dope. The player evaluations Mayock does are usually okay... the prognostication on who will get picked when is purely information gathering and guess work, they all suck at that. The thing I like about Waldman is that he's more in the business of evaluations than predictions. There's just way too much noise that has been introduced into the whole process of trying to figure out who will go where, and it only escalates because it's capital driven.
