JetNation
Rex Ryan wasn’t happy with the Jets training camp practice on Monday, he referred to the team as “running in sand”. They held a 90-minute scrimmage on Saturday night and were still sluggish on Monday. Today is the team’s final practice before the pre-season opener against the Colts, the coaching staff definitely was hoping for a bounce-back day for the team as a whole. Full pads were on the shelf with the team coming out in just shells today. Jets on the field for last training camp practice before preseason starts. Just in shells/shorts today. #nyj — Seth Walder (@SethWalderNYDN) August 5, 2014 Rookie WR Shaq Evans who has struggled to make an impression thus far in camp, was wearing the red non-contact Jersey. Shaq Evans is in the rehab area wearing red non-contact jersey. #nyj — Seth Walder (@SethWalderNYDN) August 5, 2014 Seth Walder also spotted an unfamiliar “Campbell” wearing #69 that wasn’t listed in the program. As it turned out, the Jets had signed OL Bruce Campbell, a former fourth round pick of the Oakland Raiders out of Maryland to replace Jermaine Cunningham after suffering a season-ending injury. Interesting tie in to former Jet Mike Goodson. After struggling in Oakland, Goodson is the player Carolina shipped to Oakland to acquire Campbell, who was considered by some analysts to be a top-10 talent. Most recently, Campbell was cut loose by the Redskins on March 12th for failing a team physical. Jets signed OL Bruce Campbell. Jermaine Cunningham was placed on IR. #nyj — Seth Walder (@SethWalderNYDN) August 5, 2014 After visiting the trainers early in practice, #3 RB Bilal Powell joined 7-on-7 drills wearing a compression sleeve while rookie TE Jace Amaro looked good running routes per WFAN’s Chris Lopresti. Powell getting reps during 7-on-7. Amaro getting plenty of reps too but he's rocking a compression sleeve over his right knee today. #NYJ — Chris Lopresti (@CLoprestiWFAN) August 5, 2014 Amaro looks fine though. Running/cutting well. Anxious to see him turned loose on Thursday night. #NYJ — Chris Lopresti (@CLoprestiWFAN) August 5, 2014 According to Seth Walder, Jeremy Kerley was absent from practice. No explanation was noted by Walder. Don't see Jeremy Kerley out here. #nyj — Seth Walder (@SethWalderNYDN) August 5, 2014 Taking advantage of some “down time” during special teams walk through, WR’s Decker, Hill and Nelson take some time on the side to put in a little extra work. Special Teams walk through on-going so Decker, Hill and Nelson use the free time to get in extra work with the QB's. Jetlife33
Still not sounding good for Evans. Kid has to get healthy and put in some work.
#27TheDominator
IIRC, the Jets had Bruce Campbell (NO! Not Ash!) in during mini-camp for a tryout. Interesting guy. Kiper had him top 10 coming out in 2010, but he went in the 4th. The Raiders moved him inside (like Austin Howard!) and then back outside before they traded him for Goodson. He tore his rotator cuff in camp in 2013 and failed his physical with the Skins in March. Still not sounding good for Evans. Kid has to get healthy and put in some work. IMO, if anything Evans seems like he could use a "red-shirt" season.
AFJF
Wasn't familiar with Lopresti until today. Really looking forward to hearing him on JN radio tonight.

bitonti
The Raiders moved him inside (like Austin Howard!) it's kinda shocking that the Raiders paid all that money to Howard and then moved him to guard this year. I wanted the Jets to keep this player. Turns out he's a guard.
