Welp. It's come to this for struggling Jets quarterback Geno Smith: The Saturday Night Live crew is now telling jokes at his expense.

In SNL's latest episode, which aired, well, Saturday night, cast member Colin Jost, the co-anchor of SNL's faux-news "Weekend Update" segment, had a gag about Smith's 24th birthday.

In five games this season, Smith has thrown six interceptions and fumbled twice, giving him 33 total turnovers in 21 career NFL games. His Total QBR (24.3) is the lowest among the league's starting quarterbacks this season. And he's come under fire of late for cursing at a fan and a missing a team meeting on the night before last week's game in San Diego, when he was benched in the second half.

SNL just couldn't resist.

"On Friday, embattled New York Jets quarterback Geno Smtih celebrated his 24th birthday," Jost began, teeing up the punchline. "Sadly, when Smith blew out the candles, his birthday wish was intercepted and returned for a touchdown."

Groan.
