GoingToMyGraveGreen
The outright release of Coples sends a clear message to every player on the team - No matter where you were drafted, if you do not perform you're gone. I'll be very interested in seeing if this message was received next Sunday against the Dolphins... I'm also looking to see if any starters are benched or their role radically reduced. And as a side comment - I think Revis is hurt more than we know...
kevinc855
Cromartie is the target of this warning shot. Almost gurantee they release him at season end. Devin Smith will get another year to piss of Todd Bowles and prove he is soft as toilet paper.
GoingToMyGraveGreen
I agree - Cromartie is next...but to the bench and spot duty...possibly to cover tight ends - a huge weakness on the Jets.
nyjunc
a message would have been sent in August not now. He buried Coples, a good guy who his teammates like, then now releases him? this is more an act of desperation than a message.
